URGENT – English teacher needed for Arts et Métiers Paris campus (ENSAM), English courses, Sept 2025 to May 2026 Place : 155 Bd de l’Hôpital, 75013 Status : vacataire. Pay = 43 euros / hr gross = 36 euros / hr net (Education Nationale rate). The usual rules apply for vacataires : you are eligible to teach at ENSAM if you have a main employer / have been self-employed for at least three years (with your microenterprise generating enough revenue), etc. The offer: (1) = 1 gp x around 50hrs, 21 lessons of 2.5hrs, year 1/L3, apprentices Sept to Jan; March to May, with gaps WEDNESDAY 08.30-11.10 English for 1 group of year-1/L3 students (apprentices type of engineering students) Around 50 contact hours Year-1/L3 Course Contents : Focus on language skills : 1 basic grammar revisions where needed (e.g. tenses, modals, conditional, passive, article, comparison, link words...) and advanced grammar (e.g. -ing or infinitive, phrasal verbs, subjunctive, compound nouns...); 2 expanding both everyday-life and work-related/business vocabulary; 3 improving listening skills using current affairs and news material, and dealing with non standard, regional accents. 4 TOEIC preparation Focus on operational skills (speaking and writing) : 1 oral workshops (class exchanges based on specific themes and vocab, pairwork, role plays, discussions) & phoning (arrangements/appointments, complaints, problem solving etc), 2 short presentations (self, company and tasks, etc.); 3 simple business correspondence (letters & emails). Time and dates : - 1 group on Wednesday mornings, 08.30 am to 11.10 am Sept 17, Sept 24, Oct 08, Nov 26, Dec 03, Dec 10, Dec 17, Jan 7, Jan 14, Jan 21 + March 18, March 25, April 01, April 08, April 15, April 22, April 29, May 06, May 13, May 20, May 27, June 03 (2) = 1 gp x around 36hrs, 24 lessons of 1.5 hrs, year2/M1, apprentices Sept to Nov; March to May, WEDNESDAY 11.20-12.50 English for 1 group of year-2/M1 (apprentices type of engineering students) 36 contact hours Year-2/M1 Course Contents (30 hrs) : Focus on language skills : 1 basic grammar revisions and more advanced grammar (e.g. -ing or infinitive, phrasal verbs, compound nouns...), 2 expanding vocabulary (everyday life and work- and business- related), 3 reading longer texts (press, reports with graphs and tables), and 4 improving listening skills (using both TOEIC material and authentic material [news reports, talks, parts of lectures; dealing with regional accents). Focus on operational skills (speaking and writing) : 1 oral workshops, (pairwork, role plays, debates), 2 phoning (arrangements/appointments, complaints, problem solving etc), 3 longer presentations (new directions in technology, engineering and sustainability; UK & US civilisation); 4 enhanced writing skills (reports and structured writing on a topic/essays).
