U R G E N T Applications must be submitted no later than Friday, 18 April 2025. The U.S. Embassy in Paris is looking for an English Language Instructor. The contract is for 650 hours / academic year. The year starts on the 1st of September 2025 and ends on the 31st of August 2026. This contract is renewable for the academic years 2026-2027 and 2027-2028. Lessons will be held on weekdays from Mondays to Fridays, between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, at US Embassy facilities in Paris. There will be no more than 8 students per group. The teacher will design and deliver courses for general English and writing classes, as well as evaluate student needs, levels, placement and progress. Candidates must submit the following: 1. updated CV in English 2. one-page summary outlining their teaching methodology, pedagogical approach, and strategies/tools for assessment and progress reporting 3. hourly rate.* *IMPORTANT: Please include your desired hourly rate in your one-page summary. Profil recherché
The ideal candidate - has a minimum of 2 years of experience teaching English, ESL or a foreign language. - has a BA in English, ESL, Foreign Language, Humanities or Social Science, or a BA in any subject with an ESL/EFL certificate. - has excellent written and oral communication, and good interpersonal skills. - uses technology to enhance learning (e.g. internet, social media, film, music). - clearly explains grammar/vocabulary and provide examples to meet learning goals. - can create and follow a curriculum of learning for the academic year in accordance with the US Embassy's training goals and standards. - is familiar with testing and evaluation strategies and tools for placement and advancement. - has experience with differentiating content and instruction within a homogenous group of students. The applicant must already have the necessary papers to work in France.
